Christian Outreach International is a world-wide, faith-based, humanitarian, mission and outreach organization, specializing in short term mission projects. Over the years, COI has become a recognized, trusted mission sending agency, providing over 25,000 with a mission/outreach experience.

Headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida, COI's full-time bases are located in Mexico, Ukraine, and Canada, with outreach sites in many other domestic and international locations, including Dominican Republic, Florida, New Orleans, Philippines, Honduras, and others. Currently, COI staffs 20 full-time or part-time workers worldwide, and works with scores of COI volunteers from nation to nation, and state to state.

While COI was initially founded in 1984 with an emphasis in sports ministry, outreach at our world wide sites varies, yet can include, disaster relief, humanitarian aid, work/construction projects, sports clinics, orphanage, prison, elderly, rehab clinic and hospital visits, children's camps, church seminars, and a variety of evangelism outreaches.

Since 1998, Team Travel, our professional, in house, ARC approved, IATA certified and fully bonded, travel agency has specialized in servicing discounted group travel plans, not only COI groups, but many others. Experienced agents also serve individuals and families who might not be internet savvy. COI is an IRS approved non profit corporation in the US, and a qualified non profit in Canada, funded solely by voluntary contributions from our friends, partners, and participants. COI is not sustained by a major corporation, mega-church, affluent partners, or business ventures. Like every other ministry and church, COI trusts God to provide on-going overhead and operating expenses. The donations/fees received fund the work of the full-time, international organization.

Every COI missionary is trained in support raising. Missionaries personal provision comes only through donations to COI by their friends, families, partners, support raising trips, and home churches that see them as "their" missionaries. They are not paid to work with COI. Outreach and program participants also raise support or work to do their part in meeting their outreach's expenses. No one in the COI ministry family looks at funds generated through support raising as "our" money. Working as a team, where everyone does their part, God meets all personal needs, and the needs of the ministry as a whole.

COI is not a "Christian tourism business" providing sight-seeing tours, cheap and effortless vacation or school break missions, with paid tour guides catering to groups' every desire, providing the comforts of home, and serving gourmet, all you can eat buffets! Like many believers, "COI-ers" have sacrificed to become a team of passionate, hardworking, and humble ministers, dedicated to advancing the Kingdom, and making a difference in our world through outreach and missions.

COI was founded in 1984 by the late Jack Isleib and his wife, Rosa, inspired by their daughter Mary Alice's life-changing experience on a short term basketball outreach to Central America in 1979. The trip gave her first hand experience of another country and culture. Her trip served as catalyst into full-time ministry, and to this day is the inspiration for her boldness in sharing her faith, nation after nation.

Before being named the Executive Director of COI after her father's passing in 2004, Mary Alice founded an international teaching ministry reaching over 50 nations, lived and worked in Europe and Russia, and served as a Senior Pastor for eight years. As an ordained minister with over 22 years of full-time ministry experience, her family's rich spiritual heritage, and God's grace, she is poised to bring COI into its best and most fruitful years.

COI exists to mobilize, train, and release individuals, groups, churches, and other organizations, into global/local missions, and humanitarian outreach, with an emphasis on personal evangelism, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Groups (10 or more) collaborate with COI to "customize" an outreach, a partnership that creates an avenue for the group to reach the field and accomplish their task effectively; all the while having fun and seeing lives change!! Time on the trip is set aside for COI staff to minister God's Word to the group, and share in worship and meaningful fellowship.

COI also provides specialty trips for individuals to serve in disaster/humanitarian relief, sports clinics, English camps, children's camps, or performing arts.

Experienced COI staff develops and initiates all the set-up and arrangements for the mission trips. They are well trained and respected, and usually live, work, and fluently speak the language of the countries where COI works. Otherwise, they have superb contact with people there that do. Our missionaries and ministry leaders have successfully led outreaches to over 50 countries.

At each site, COI maintains longstanding, committed relationships with local churches, pastors, and regionally respected ministries. This creates an effective and long lasting effort in sharing the gospel. COI does its utmost to provide groups with a powerful "God" experience, and impacting the cities were COI works with a spirit of revival.

Humanitarian and "good will" outreaches can be arranged for businesses and other organizations, without evangelism as a focal point. Our humanitarian and disaster relief teams will partner with any group who is committed to promoting, and maintaining integrity, compassion and care world wide.

COI Alumni, experienced church workers, and new comers to COI alike, keep their desire to reach out, and sense of spiritual destiny fresh through serving in COI Programs. The Summer ministry program (one month minimum service), helping in other COI outreaches, or participating in one of our programs(like teaching English abroad, or Sports), are just part of COI's continuing discipleship and ministry training. These programs equip Christian workers for ongoing service in the Kingdom of God.

Program participants do a variety of tasks like, help lead groups, cook, drive, run errands, keep grounds, fix cars, lead Bible Studies, and work hand in hand with COI staff. Time is specifically allotted in each program for personal development, Bible school level classes, spiritual growth, and mentoring.

COI has training courses and plans of service for individuals and families who desire to serve God full-time (three month minimum commitment). Average time of service in COI for current missionaries is 12 years. Obviously, COI is a fun and exciting ministry team to be part of!!

COI ministers year round at our full-time sites, with or without groups there to participate. COI's work is highly requested, regularly scheduled and ongoing in schools, orphanages, sports, community, evangelism, and local church partnership.

English as a Second Language schools (teaching nationals conversational English) in our international locations has proven to be an effective way of reaching nationals for Christ. The uniqueness of ESL as a ministry is that COI missionaries/teachers in any location are able to begin building relationships with nationals without first having a firm grasp of that country's language. Anyone can be trained to be English teachers in our schools!
