Have you ever thought of English as your passport to mission service? English as a Second Language (ESL) is an important part of the COI ministry. Our Teach to Reach program offers you the opportunity of a lifetime to teach conversational English classes at our English School in Ukraine and to make an eternal difference in the lives of your students!

No Experience Necessary! Our only requirement is that English is your birth language, and that you have a willing heart and a servant's attitude. We train you, but nothing can prepare you for the way God will work through the relationships you establish on the mission field. As your students come to trust you as their English instructor, the door is open for sharing your faith and the Gospel. Each ESL semester many lost souls come to know the Lord.

Unlike many organizations that send teachers overseas to Teach English as a Second Language in foreign lands, Christian Outreach International has it's own schools located at our mission bases around the world. Our teachers are not placed at foreign universities or technological schools, but at our own language schools founded by Christian Outreach International. We teach quality English classes in a program that emphasizes extracurricular activities where students can practice what they are learning in class.

Serving in our school will also provide you the opportunity to experience Ukrainian culture firsthand. You will live with a host family or in an apartment. You will also receive invaluable ministry experience as an active member of a dynamic missionary staff, many of whom are experienced field missionaries.

Our focus in class is conversational English. Many foreign students have studied English grammar in grade school but the present need around the world is to "speak" English. In our schools, we do not Teach English as a Second Language from the Bible, nor do we "preach" to our students in class. We also plan extracurricular meetings that are based on friendship evangelism, and used as a format to share Christ with our students.

Teaching English as a Second Language means recognizing the escalating demand for knowledge of the English language both here and abroad. The staff at Christian Outreach International has discovered a rich mission opportunity as we cultivate relationships, impart skills and impact many for Him.
