WHY JOIN COI’S TEACH TO REACH PROGRAM?

1. Our Experience and Expertise

Christian Outreach International has been sending believers into all the world for 25 years.  We are committed to making it easy for you to take part in the Great Commission.  Once you have applied and have been accepted to the “Teach to Reach” program, we will walk with you every step of the way, making your transition to the mission field as smooth and easy as possible.

2. Fund-Raising Assistance by COI

Most teachers have their financial needs met through donation based support-raising, personal or private funds, or retirement.  If you choose to raise funds through support-raising, we will put you in touch with our fundraising coach, who will personally help you put together a fundraising plan.  Building a strong team to support your ministry in both prayer and finances is very important.  COI will handle all receipting and tracking of contributions to your account.

3.  Transportation Arrangements

Travel arrangements to and from the field can be booked through COI.  We are a certified ARC travel agency and can help you arrange all your transportation.

4.  Our Own Language School

Unlike many other organizations who send teachers to a foreign university or school overseas, COI has founded and owns its own English school located in Uzhhorod, Ukraine.  You will work alongside fellow teachers and our experienced full-time staff.  The sole purpose of our school is to teach quality English courses so we can build stronger relationships with our students and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them.

5.  No Teaching Experience Necessary

Never taught before?  Haven’t traveled out of your home town?  Don’t let that stop you from letting God use you on the mission field!  COI does not require teaching experience, and we will train you once you arrive.

6.  A Relaxed Ministry Environment

The goal at our school is to create a relaxed ministry environment where our students feel welcome to come and practice their English.  It is common to see our students spending time after class hanging out with our teachers or sharing a cup of tea.  In class we don’t teach from the Bible nor do we “preach” at our students.  We offer excellent English classes combined with extracurricular activities such as school picnics, field trips, and various activities where we freely share our message with the students.

7.  Missionary Mentoring

Our ESL school is located at a full-time COI mission base.  While serving in Ukraine you will interact on a daily basis with our missionaries.  Our desire is for you to grow in your relationship with the Lord.  You will join or staff for weekly worship and prayer, and may have a small group meeting led by a staff missionary.  They will be there to pray with you, encourage you, and support you throughout your time in Ukraine.

8.  Exciting Opportunities and Education

COI’s “Teach to Reach” program entails more than simply teaching English classes.  You’ll have opportunities to participate in a variety of outreaches with your students and in the community.  You may also be able to study a foreign language, such as Ukrainian or Russian.

9.  Full-Time Possibilities

After a semester or year in our “Teach to Reach” program, you may want to extend your term of service, as many teachers do.  You may also want to consider joining our full-time staff.
